Cycling to work? Tips on how to stay cute post your commute

That's my colleague trying out my bike :)
This topic may not be relevant in these Covid times, but with India unlocking, many people are leaving their home and heading to work, like me. Being physically active is essential for a healthy lifestyle. To all those naysayers, we Indians are resilient and things are steadily bouncing back to normalcy :)

I'm sure we are all aware regular physical activity can help protect you from higher rates of health problems that are associated with a sedentary corporate lifestyle.

Cycling to work is one of the most time-efficient ways to combine regular exercise with your day to day routine, not just that it's good for the environment too!

With all this riding there are certain challenges associated with biking to work, Sweat & Odour!

I myself ride to work often, being smelly and unkempt at work is pretty much a deal breaker. Lets see below how to freshen up after a bike ride..

Clothing:
Sweat is the biggest problem of them all! Always carry a spare set of attire (shirt, pant, socks & inner wear) that you can change when you get to your work place. Carry a bag/cover for your sweaty clothes.

Cooling Down:
It is advisable to cool down before you put on the fresh clothes. This will prevent any excess perspiration from clinging to you. It usually takes several hours for sweat to turn to odor so if you freshen up properly this shouldn’t be an issue.

Freshen Up:
If your work place has a dedicated section for cyclists to take a shower that's great! If not I would probably do a little “towel bath” where you wipe down with a moistened towel, the spots that have gotten a bit sweaty or even better is to use baby wipes. Finally some finishing touches deodorant and moisturizer to keep you fresh throughout the day.

Thought I'll throw in this, me posing for a picture before heading to work 😂

For your safety, always follow the traffic rules and wear personal protection gear!

Ride More & Ride Safe! 🚴🏻 🚴🏻‍♀️ 👍🏻
